We examined the Garda uniform and noticed that the jacket is waterproof. We wondered what other materials are waterproof.
First we made our predictions. Which gloves are waterproof – rubber gloves, disposable gloves or winter gloves?
We then investigated.
We wanted to make a waterproof coat for our cardboard character. What other materials are waterproof? We investigated …
We then knew what materials to use for our waterproof coats – Lets get to work!
We know that finger prints are used to solve crime. Everyone’s finger print is different – Let’s investigate…

Junior Infants are making wonderful things in ‘Junk Art’
Junior Infants went to the Demesne for a nature walk. We saw fairy houses and shops in Fairy Land. Diarmuid and Advaid’s favourite fairy shop was ‘Super Duper Value’. Alex and Nathan’s favourite was the ‘Mart’ and Ewan liked ‘Santa’s workshop’. We also saw the wishing well and made a wish.
After Fairy Land, we searched for the signs of Autumn. James and Eli found an acorn under the Oak tree. Wiktor, Sean, Lillian and Isaac found conkers under the Horse Chestnut tree. Rory, Caoimhe, Oskar and Jennifer pulled the keys from the Ash tree. On our way back to school, we saw red berries, David said they were ripe and ready for Mr. Robin.
We had a great day and we are looking forward to our next trip.
Grandparents’ Day 2016

We had lots of interesting characters in our classroom for our World Book Day celebrations. We did not know who some of them were so they had to tell their stories. We had footballers from Man. United and Liverpool clubs, Ben Ten, Action Man and The Cat in The Hat. We had Rapunzel, Snow White and The Sleeping Beauty. Buzz Lightyear came and Woody and Milly were there too so he had company.
